Database Design
Databases are useful for storing and organizing large amounts of data (product catalogs and
inventories, customer lists, employee information, etc.).
All of our databases are custom-made to your specifications. If you don't know exactly what
you want I'll sit down with you and we'll work out a plan to suit your needs.
Smaller databases will generally be created using Microsoft® Access 2000, large systems
will usually be implemented with SQL Server 2000. Arrangements can be made to use other
popular programs.

Database Administration
(SQL Server)
Larger database systems require regular maintenance to keep them running at peak performance.
Without proper backup and maintenance plans you could be left re-entering weeks worth of data by hand,
losing valuable data, or having your database simply stop responding in the middle of a busy day.
As a smaller business, you might need a database administrator, but can't justify hiring one
full-time.

Spreadsheet Design
Spreadsheets are useful for automating tedious number crunching, and creating custom reports with
charts and graphs for smooth and professional presentations.
Like our databases, our spreadsheets are custom-tailored to your needs, and if you're not sure
what you want or need we'll sit down with you and work out a plan.
Custom spreadsheets will be created in Microsoft® Excel, Lotus® 1-2-3, or Corel® Quattro Pro.

Application Integration
Database and spreadsheet projects can be designed to work together to save time and effort. By
linking spreadsheets to your database you can save the hassle of having to type names and products
multiple times.
Integrated spreadsheets are particularly useful for quarterly reports and tedious presentations
that need to be done on a regular basis.

Website Integration
Online database access is useful both for customers, and for employees who need to access your
database when they are at home or on the road.
We will work with you to add database integration to your existing website, or to help improve
your current setup.
Server-side scripting works nicely for this. We typically use ASP with a SQL Server
backend or PHP with a MySQL backend, depending on your web server's capabilities.
(We are not, however, a web hosting company. We will provide code and forms necessary
for database access, display and editing of data, and backend database development. We will also test all
of our work. You will be responsible, however, for finding a suitable hosting company and registering any
needed domain names.)
